Some people have bookcases in there homes that's used strictly for books and books only. Now, if there not always reading those books from the shelf, the bookcase become dusty, outdated and well, just not cute at all anymore because of the lack of attention it gets. There are so many type of bookcases that come in all shapes and sizes, from wall to wall, to of course free standing, but why do most people just put books in them, when a well dressed bookcase can be the focal point of any room. Here are a few simple ideas for adding a dose of style to your own bookcases at home which will have most in awe when they walk in the door.

Paint- One of the easiest way to change your bookcase and allow it to stand out due to having white walls or white shelving, is to add a vibrant color of paint to the back of the bookcase. This will help everything that you place n the shelves, besides books, to stand out.

Wallpaper- Attaching wallpaper can be easy to do as well. It will bring a sophisticated look to the space and bring conversation when anyone comes over.

Adding vases of one color or sets of 3 looks wonderful especially if the shelves are deep. You can layer the shelf adding plates with stands, placing flower arrangements on top of the books by  laying them flat, piled from large to small and adding small items in the front giving the shelves more depth. Play with it to your taste.
